The JL Audio JD500/1 is a monoblock Class D subwoofer amplifier rated up to 500 W x1 at 2 ohm (14.4V) and provides high real-world power with efficient NexD switching technology for low distortion and compact size.

The amplifier features an extruded aluminum chassis with controls on the input panel and power/speaker connections on the opposite end. Signal processing includes a 12 dB per octave low-pass filter adjustable from 50 to 500 Hz, variable bass boost, an LED clipping indicator around the input sensitivity control, and buffered pass-through preamp outputs.

Connectivity and control include dual-range differential-balanced inputs that accept line-level and speaker-level signals, automatic turn-on via signal sensing or DC offset sensing, and compatibility with an optional RBC-1 remote level control for driver seat subwoofer adjustment.
