The JBL GX9638 is designed to fit into 6×9 inches factory locations without vehicle modification, delivering high-energy JBL pro sound for everyday driving. It uses JBL’s patented Plus One woofer cone with a three-ohm voice coil, paired with an edge-driven soft-dome tweeter mounted in a proprietary tweeter deflector, plus an added supertweeter for extra high-frequency extension – useful for overcoming wind noise with windows down.
The low-impedance three-ohm voice coil compensates for the undersized speaker wiring found in many factory installations, extracting more power from the amplifier or head unit for higher output and deeper bass. Every GX Series speaker undergoes OEM-level reliability testing, including freeze, heat, UV and extended full-power testing.
